Services Provided

Andrew Northover Photography received ‘Global CONFIDENTIAL’ AppSec clearance from AWS in 2022, opening the door as one of the first agencies in Australia pacific to be able to work on projects ahead of public announcement. Throughout this working relationship with AWS, there has been ongoing retainer and project specific work to deliver a range of creative and promotional services, enhancing their visibility and engagement across multiple channels.

PROJECTS

AWS Summit Sydney

The AWS Summit Sydney is Australia Pacific’s largest promotional event. Spread over two days, Innovation & Builders days provide a plethora of Keynotes, speaker sessions, hands-on learning and interactive activations at Sydney’s International Convention Centre (ICC).

A full spectrum of services were provided covering all pre-event Save the Date, Register Now, Speaker Session, Animated Billboard and organic social promotional content, as well as post event hype videos and photography packages.

Same-day event activation videos were included to maintain social currency and provide a constant media hype over the duration of the two day event.

At the conclusion of the event, a series of promotional reels and social tiles were launched to promote the on-demand offerings for patrons and absentees to rewatch keynotes and missed speakers sessions.

Same-day activation hype reels

A series of activation focused hype reels were filmed, edited and delivered to Instagram and Linkedin during Builders Day, promoting walk-in registrations and event currency.

 

On-demand promotional reels

Used across linkedin, instagram, and paid media, these reels were to encourage online registration

Event Stickers

5,000 Event stickers were designed in house and distributed throughout the event space for each of the four activations:

  • Generative AI

  • Data

  • Operational Excellence

  • Customer Experience

Each activation was themed with easter-egg content unique to each zone, with a fifth and final golden card inspired by the infamous AWS Golden Jacket, reserved exclusively for the limited list of developers who have obtained all AWS Certifications. The golden sticker was restricted to a limited run of 100, and was leveraged as part of a promotional social campaign to obtain the unicorn.

Pre-event paid media and organic social content

Over 100+ paid and organic marketing assets were created and distributed across web based advertising platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and Reddit.

Public Sector — Sunswift Racing, University New South Wales

Capturing the incredible journey of Sunswift 7, the solar-electric power house led by former Red Bull Racing head of operations Richard Hopkin's and built by University of New South Wales outstanding team of student of engineers.

Despite unexpected winds and battery turmoil shaking up the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, this film reflects the team's determination and innovative spirit, culminating in their Cruiser Class victory.

This documentary is not just about racing—it's a triumph of passion, hard work, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

 

AWS at SXSW Sydney

South by Southwest (SXSW) is a renowned annual conglomerate of parallel film, interactive media, music festivals, and conferences usually held in Austin, Texas, expanding to Sydney Australia for the first time in 2023. Celebrated for its wide-ranging impact, SXSW attracts creators and innovators from around the globe, serving as a premier destination for discovery and networking in the creative and tech industries.

AWS made a significant impact with the AWS House, an installation in the tech space on the event floor. The AWS House showcased cutting-edge technologies and solutions, providing attendees with immersive experiences and insights into the future of cloud computing and innovation.

Event Schedule & Social Promotion

With a large and diverse list of speakers and sessions exhibiting on behalf of AWS at SXSW, a session timetable was required to be designed for both web and at-event purposes.

AWS Startups — Leonardo AI

Leonardo AI, a leading generative AI platform for image creation, has experienced meteoric growth since its inception in January 2022, aided by the AWS Startups program. Founded by JJ Fiasson, the company quickly amassed over 7 million users who have generated more than 700 million images in just one year. With its user-friendly interface, advanced features, and recent $31 million investment, Leonardo AI has rapidly established itself as a major player in the AI art generation space.

Positioned on a central booth of a crowded exhibition floor, we were given a brief 30 minute window to setup, light and film an interview with JJ and CTO Peter Runham to tell their AWS story.

 

AWS Melbourne Region Launch

Filmed and edited in Melbourne Australia under CONFIDENTIAL AppSec approval, the Melbourne Region launch for AWS was a top-secret initiative to develop messaging to be displayed to a global audience. Displayed at event booths nationally, and in paid and organic social promotions, this video help push AWS another step forward into the Asia Pacific market.

AWS & Formula 1

When the largest cloud computing company in the world meet the greatest race on earth, brilliant things happen. Live, as-it-happens content is produced each year for AWS at the Melbourne Formula 1 Grand Prix showcasing at-event activations with the collaboration between RMIT and the AWS DeepRacer League, and sponsorship collaborations with Ferrari and Formula 1 itself (absent due to contractual limitations).

 

AWS Public Sector Symposium

AWS works closely with the Australian public sector to drive digital transformation and innovation. Through its Whole-of-Government Agreement, AWS provides cloud services to numerous government agencies, including CSIRO, ABS, ASIC, and ATO.

It’s in this space AWS forms its partnerships, and telling their story through partner and customer case studies is a fundamental step in positioning themselves as the leader of cloud in ANZ. Events such as the Public Sector Symposium allow for businesses within this space to find AWS partners and streamline their solutions.

Both pre and post event material has been crafted annually, for both regional Australia / New Zealand teams, as well as for AWS Global to promote the partnership program exhibited below.

 

Merry dev:Ember

The annual dev:Ember campaign aims to tests developers innovative approach to cloud engineering, challenging them to build a holiday themed project using AWS services.

A key focus was made on compelling storytelling and digestible content, whilst also engaging community builders to help promote their efforts.

Social Media

Collaborating with AWS, we introduced the regional @awscloudanz Instagram account, aiming to differentiate AWS' global marketing by focusing specifically on the region. This partnership led to the creation of engaging social content tailored for webinars, talks, and crucial announcements, effectively resonating with the local audience while aligning with AWS' overarching strategies. The new account emerged as a powerful platform to amplify AWS’ presence in Oceania, crafting a more meaningful connection with the target market through targeted and region-specific campaigns.
